Floorball is a fast-paced indoor sport based on ice hockey (although no prior experience is needed!). It is popular in Scandinavian countries, where it is known as 'Innebandy' (in Sweden) or 'Salibandy' (in Finland). It originated in the 1970s during poor winters in Sweden, when ice hockey could not be played. Ever since, it has grown from strength to strength, with the formation of the International Floorball Federation (IFF) hosting the Floorball World Championships every other year.
The current rulebook can be viewed here along with simplified rules here.
