The Team Talk workshop isn't a lecture, seminar, talk or listen and learn. It's an interactive conversational workshop for you and your clubmates to explore important conversations that impact you all as part of a student body - we're talking about mental wellbeing, sex, and healthy relationships, and creating inclusive space. It's a space to discuss what you think and feel about these conversations - nothing more, nothing less. No prior knowledge base is necessary. Team Talk is designed for sports teams, student associations, social clubs, student union reps, student leaders and residences. These workshops create safe and brave spaces to explore the above topics and their impact on both individual participants and collective group culture.

Location: Lanes 7&8 in the 50m Pool, Sports Training Village. 

If you wish to join a water based Sports Club (canoe, rowing, sailing, surf, & triathlon) then you are required to complete a swim test.

This swim test will consist of 3 elements:

1. 100m continuous swim within 5 minutes (2 lengths of the STV Pool)
2. Tread Water in an upright position for 5 minutes immediately after the swim completion 
3. Exit The Water via the plinth at the end of the pool (This is a raised side)

All participants will be assessed by an assessor, who will then notify you if you have passed or failed.

All participants must wear shorts and t-shirt for the whole duration of the test

Participants are not permitted to wear goggles (With the exception of those with contact lenses)

If you are a captain or vice-captain of a BUCS team it is compulsory that you attend one of the three captains training sessions. As a recommendation we would also suggest, if possible, the Chair of any sports clubs that take part in BUCS league attend one of the Captains training sessions as you may be required to support your captain/s at different times of the year.

The training will provide you with information you will need to know for when you and your team compete in BUCS league this season.
