Sign Ups

Location: Lanes 8 in the 50m Pool, Sports Training Village. 

If you wish to join a water based Sports Club (canoe, rowing, sailing, surf, windsurf & triathlon) then you are required to complete a swim test.

This swim test will consist of 3 elements:

1. 100m continuous swim within 5 minutes (2 lengths of the STV Pool)
2. Tread Water in an upright position for 5 minutes immediately after the swim completion 
3. Exit The Water via the plinth at the end of the pool (This is a raised side)

All participants will be assessed by an assessor, who will then notify you if you have passed or failed.

All participants must wear shorts and t-shirt for the whole duration of the test

Participants are not permitted to wear goggles (With the exception of those with contact lenses)

If you are a captain or vice-captain of a BUCS team it is compulsory that you attend one of the three captains training sessions. As a recommendation we would also suggest, if possible, the Chair of any sports clubs that take part in BUCS League attend one of the Captains training sessions as you may be required to support your captain/s at different times of the year.

The training will provide you with information you will need to know for when you and your team compete in BUCS league this season.

This workshop is for newly elected Social Secs and Chairs to attend. This workshop will cover the responsibilities they hold within your role in your club, what is an initiation and what are the consequences and other important information they will require to fulfil their role. Attendance of all social secs and chairs is mandatory. If they cannot attend, you need to notify us and find other members of your committee to attend. All clubs need to be represented in this workshop. If you are able to sign up to this workshop, this confirms your space.

This workshop will cover topics such as: Consent culture, Mediation skills, Managing conflict and disagreements, Racism and inclusion, and Religion and cultural awareness. Every committee member at your club is expected to attend this workshop or if they are not available at this date or time, or if their are no spaces left they must attend another one of these workshops that are taking place at these dates, times and locations:

Thursday 24th September - 18:30pm - 19:30pm - 8W 1.1

Friday 25th September - 11:30am - 12:30pm - 3WN 2.1

If a committee member cannot attend one of these workshops we need to be informed at subathsport@bath.ac.uk. These sessions are being introduced in response to a rising number of concerns and instances of inappropriate behaviour and conduct and are an important step in ensuring all clubs provide a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment, non-attendance will not be supported. If you are able to sign up to this workshop, this confirms your space.
