Posh

Friday 6th and Saturday 7th October

Weston Studio, The Edge, University of Bath

At points hilarious, at points hard-hitting, overall: amazing! Based on the stories of Oxford's Bullingdon Club, the play focuses on differences in social class and the damaging effects this can have. One trip to a restaurant goes one step too far and the group were never the same again.

Confusions

This hilarious group of four short plays was really a baptism of fire for the Freshers, but what a show it was! The play sees varying forms of family life in different walks of life. The cast came together to put on a fantastic show and have never looked back since.

Wonderland

7th, 8th, and 9th December

The Edge Theatre

Written and directed by Sarah Bridge

An adaptation of the classic 'Alice in Wonderland' with all your favourite characters, Sarah achieved truly wonderful things with this feast of merriment. The Christmas show's cast added to the wonder with amazing acting, dancing, and, well... being wonderfully mad.

The Comedy of Errors

The Mission Theatre, Bath City Centre

Directed by Seb Gethin

A Shakespearian classic that left the audience in stitches, and that wasn't because of the swords! The epitome of mistaken identity comedy was masterfully performed by a cast of look-a-likes. The family of Egeon slowly refound each other and leave everyone with that warm fuzzy feeling inside.

1984

19th, 20th, and 21st April

The Edge Theatre

The famous novel comes to life on the stage, as Winston slowly realises his struggle against Big Brother isn't going to work. The cast managed to bring the audience into a world of torture and fear, highlighting how scary the human nature can be. Don't forget; Big Brother is watching you...

Fear and Misery of the Third Reich

8th and 9th June

The Museum of Bath at Work, Bath city centre

Directed by Owen Biggadike

Written by Brecht during the Second World War, the fascinating play shows dramatisied sections of people's lives in Nazi Germany. The fringe show made use of props and make-up to create a sense of surrealness that was truly chilling.

The History Boys

8th and 9th June

The Mission Theatre, Bath City Centre

Directed by Jamie Leich

Made famous by the likes of James Corden, BUST can truly hold their heads high by doing this great play justice. A group of boys from Sheffield end up applying for Oxford and their journey is met with scandal and tragedy. The relationship between the teachers and pupils has never been more tense.

Yerma

8th and 9th June

The Mission Theatre, Bath City Centre

Directed by Maria Bloch Lundgaard

The early 1900s, rural Spain, and a longing for a child. Yerma breaks down in this beautifully crafted play by Lorca. In attempt to join her friends in becoming a mother, Yerma tries everything before finally snapping and strangling her husband, leaving the audience in gripping shock.
