Cost of Living

  • Increase the range of balanced, affordable meals across campus outlets. Ensure that £1.50 meals are price locked as costs rise (SU Operations – Commercial, University Advocacy)
  • Work with the University and student fundraising groups to secure more funding for the SU pantry to better support students who need access to it (SU Operations – Student Leadership & Support)
  • Increase awareness of discount schemes on campus and in the city to help students save money day to day
  • Reducing the price, and increasing awareness and availability of the Munch Box initiative to increase affordability and reduce waste (University Advocacy)
  • Test launch a Tupperware scheme like the token system for coffee cups so that students can buy takeaway food on campus more sustainably and access the munch box initiative more easily (University Advocacy)

Housing

  • Improve support for students dealing with housing problems – especially poor conditions or issues with landlords by creating an anonymous reporting form to flag repeat offenders and create weekly housing advice drop-ins to make getting support easier and more accessible (External Advocacy)
  • Promoting the use of websites where students in Bath can share and rate their tenancy experience to build a picture of trusted (or untrusted) landlords/properties (SU Operations – Student Leadership & Support)

Physical Health

  • Introduce SHAG week! - a student focused campaign to destigmatise sex and promote information about sexual health, relationships, consent, and sexuality (SU Operations – Student Leadership & Support)
  • Increase awareness and availability of free online STI testing in Bath so all students can access easy, confidential testing without the stigma of going to the clinic (External Advocacy)

Safety

  • Working to tackle discrimination and harassment experienced by vulnerable and minority groups across the city, particularly within Bath’s nightlife (External Advocacy)
  • Make Welfare Officer a compulsory role within student groups (SU Operations – Student Life)

Transit

  • Lobby for improvements to the buses, including later-running U4 especially after nighttime campus events and a morning timetable that better matches sports training times (External Advocacy)
