Accessibility
Introduction of quiet/sensory hours in the STV pool/gym to support neurodivergent students (University Advocacy)
Engage with the Diversity and Support groups here at Bath to understand the barriers they face in participating in sport and how we can enable them to participate more easily (SU Operations – Student Leadership & Support)
Bath Spirit
Streaming major events (e.g. Big BUCS Wednesday) which Bath are participating in back here at Bath (SU – Commercial)
Bureaucracy
Develop clear and accessible resources to clear up common misconceptions and answer frequently asked questions about SU processes (SU Operations – Student Life)
Create Sport Officer drop-in sessions for sport committee members to share their challenges, ideas and concerns in an informal environment (SU Operations – Student Leadership & Support)
Look to align booking slots at Sulis with the U4 bus timetable to allow more individuals to access the facilities (University Advocacy)
Community
Working with clubs on their visions to enhance the experience of their members (SU Operations – Student Life)
Increase the engagement of underrepresented groups within sport such as post graduate and international students (SU Operations – Student Life)
Create a forum for club committees to share ideas and collaborate. Often the best people to learn from are each other (Student Operations – Student Life)
Physical Health
Better promotion of the health benefits of participation in sport and general exercise (SU Operations – Student Life)
Further integration of the Bath Active Daily Mile into our sport offering (SU Operations – Student Life)
Expanding on the Bath Active offer by encouraging more sports to participate in the program (SU Operations – Student Life)
Improved social media coverage of the recreational offerings that many of our clubs already provide. We can’t grow engagement without awareness of what is available (SU – Chief Exec Remit)
Space
The redevelopment of Sulis is key to allowing us to expand our recreational offer whilst still maintaining the performance and competitive aspect of Sport that BUCS provides (University Advocacy)
Sport
Explore the reintroduction of female only swim fit lanes (University Advocacy)
Revamping the current exercise buddy scheme through consultation with students who have used the scheme to understand how it can better support them (SU Operations – Student Life)
Promote the revamped exercise buddy scheme with clearer information (SU Operations – Student Life)
Other Priorities
Wider range of sports shown in the Plug, to include Women's sport (SU Operations – Commercial)
