What is covered?
Membership of a sports club includes the following types of cover:
- Personal Injury Insurance – if a member is injured whilst involved in an official event such as a match or tournament, etc., or during an official Club training session, they may have a claim for assistance with treatment such as physio, or compensation for that injury. For example, a member breaks a leg in a rugby tackle.
- Public Liability Insurance – if a member causes injury or damage to property whilst involved in an official event such as a match or tournament, etc., or during an official Club training session, they may have a claim for assistance with paying for putting it right. For example, a footballer kicks a ball and it breaks the ref’s glasses.
What is NOT covered?
Cover excluded from sports club membership insurance includes:
- Personal property, belonging to the member, used in the course of an SU event
- Members driving their own car
